TWOA-DFW Chapter Mentor Program:

Program Notes
For the 2016-2017 Season, TWOA-DFW Chapter President Dennis McGrane heads up the Mentor Program. He will assign a mentor to each new member of the TWOA-DFW.

Program Specifics:

  • All new members will be assigned an experienced official as a Mentor
  • Returning officials may be assigned a mentor as deemed necessary
  • New officials will be in that status for two years or less depending on their progression as an official.
  • The scheduler will work to schedule the new official and their mentor together in at least 3-4 events during the season.
  • When possible, the Mentor should shadow the new official during JV matches, and switch roles during Varsity matches.
  • The Mentor should talk to the new official during the match and after the match to provide immediate feedback.
  • The Mentor will provide formal feedback to the Evaluation Committee via the Evaluation form, and discuss the form and the evaluation process at the end of the event.
  • At the end of the season, formal feedback will be provided to the new official from the Evaluation Committee, and documented in a report.
